  • From an owc. Prune, cherry, earth, iron and plum fruit on the nose the palate. Lacked acidity especially and freshness when you compare with the glorious 91 Soldera. This is drinking off peak. There is a reason why it is a declassified/second wine.

  • Purchased off the list at inoteca, NYC. Nose is predominantly soy sauce. In the mouth it's Sour Patch Kid fruit--maybe with a bit more acidity than I'd like--and a Tootsie Roll, slightly baked undertone that makes me wonder whether this wine sat at room temperature for some part of its life. I don't really know the story with this wine--the label doesn't say Brunello anywhere and has a kind of graffiti-style typeface. Is it declassified Case Basse fruit from a tough vintage? In the end, a miss.
