  • I’ve had lots of these in the last few years with very few bad bottles. Quite golden and whilst initially smelling oxidised it blossoms with 15mins or air to show lots of tart peach, spices and caramelised pineapple with nice density and good acidity. With more air lots more vanilla comes out. The density and acidity really works well with food - fantastic with roast chicken and also lighter pork. A great food wine that still has time left in the tank - lots of fruit, new oak and acidity. Drink to 2030. 93-94pts

  • This is still a great wine at age 17 and a pleasure to drink. The color is surprisingly light yellow not golden. The nose gets a bit of a sherry note first but within seconds a complex bouquet of vanilla, tropical fruits, peach opens up. Very creamy, thick, dominant, fills your mouth totally. Elegance but also power ( 15% alc). The wine was adding layers of complexity after 1-2 hours. Long finish. The picture did not change on day 2. Wow.

  • Cloudy yellow color
Lost its crispness, but still nice flavors and nose.
Herbs, vanilla, caramel, marshmallows, over ripe peach, slight hint of tea very soft nose. Flavors burnt sugar, ripe peach, cantaloupe, a bit of pineapple, a heavy dose of oak. A bit of alcohol comes through now. Acid medium, weight heavy. Alcohol and acid are a bit much at this point. These are over the peak, but still very tasty. Drink up if you have them.
