  • Random grab from the cellar, drank over several days. 70% merlot, 30% cab franc. No notes taken, but based on my memory, not at all out of line with others' notes. An end of bin deal for $22 makes this a great QPR.

  • This is a pretty good qpr Pomerol imo - though price is starting to creep up a bit in recent vintages (though I feel that quality has as well). Beauregard has one of the higher proportions of Cabernet Franc in Pomerol, the split for this vintage was 70% Merlot - 30% Cab Franc. Looking at Bordeaux in 2012, I feel that Pomerol is the strongest.

Nose has black fruits/berries, earth, truffle - quite round on the palate, with flavors of plum, spice, and cocoa.

    Medium Acidity.
    Medium-full body.
    Medium-long finish.
Tannins still need to integrate a bit.

Drinking well now, though has many years ahead of it (thinking through 2035).

  • Dark ruby with first signs of age. Aromas of dark berries, tobacco, earth. Dry, nedium+ body, medium+ acidity, medium+ structured tannins. Taste of ripe black berries. dark chocolate, pepper. At the begining of drinking window.

  • Color: Transparent ruby. A slightly brownish hue that is reminiscent of an aging wine. Nose: Cherries, a hint of spice. Mouth: Very expressive and long. Really nice cherries. Tannins are noticeable but not offensive at all. The 14% alc. is perfectly hidden. Inky texture. Medium to full bodied. After a while of breathing black tea can be noted. Don't drink this wine too cold. 19° or 20°C would be perfect.
