P&p. Aromas of dark fruit, violets, chocolate, peppery spice; somewhat sleek and modern but with some earthy depth and not unattractive. Similar flavors, with surprisingly firm grippy tannins, and good acidity. Seems well done and a good value for its style (bought in 2017 for $19); not really my cup of tea, but enjoyable enough.
Day 2: somewhat improved; chocolate has mellowed a bit, everything is more cohesive, and as fresh and expressive as day 1. Still not loving it, but just a matter of preference.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and good supporting tannins. The feel is very pretty with plush tones of red fruits, spices, red cherries, and red florals.
Overall: This is a gorgeous Chianti Classico Riserva. This is fairly perfumed in nature with a nice and deft touch to it.

Chianti Classico tasting- the black rooster crows at the dawn of a new age (Allerton Hotel, Chicago IL): Nose: Very perfumed and aromatic nose with tones of red fruits, spice tones, roasted herbs, cherries, and red florals. The nose plays to the higher register with very good depth as well.
