Incredibly clear and super dark ruby. Cedar and intense blackberry on the nose. Sweet, intense blackberries on the attack with cinnamon stick and cedar underlying. Long, pleasantly bitter finish. Very nice.

Cloudy medium ruby color. jalapeño Pepper-infused dark chocolate on the nose with vanilla accents. This is a complex wine with notes of boysenberry, a slight hint of green jalapeño that lasts through the finish, sweet blackberries, a confectionary pastry note, a bit of dark chocolate here and there, and vanillin accents at the edges. Nuanced and intellectual but with enough tannic and alcohol power to still be recognizable as Californian in style.

It’s high acidity, lean mouthfeel and earthy/green notes would completely lead me to believe this is a classic claret from a cool growing season. There are notes of green pepper, olive, plums, and black fruit, with cooling hints of mint, rose water and orange rind. This is really good and well stored bottles are likely just reaching maturity. Finish is a tad short, but refreshing nonetheless.
Update - this came together even more on day-2. Maybe this has a longer life ahead than I first thought.

Good but not great for the price. Likely the vintage thing.

Better than the first bottle a few years ago. Does not seem to have a lot of life left though
