  Dark cherry/ruby red, medium depth of colour, clear, 3
  Fruity nose, berries, soft spices, floral hint, 6
  Dry, medium body, restrained berry fruit, moderate acidity, in balance. Soft drying tannins in the middle palate and following through to a long spicy finish. Good structure. Surprisingly better balanced than it was a year ago. The fruit is still sufficient but the acidity has dropped away. It is a more austere wine than I prefer but enjoyable nevertheless. The finish is interesting: dry, spicy and lingering. The high alcohol content is not so evident now as it was in previous tastings. 8

  Dry, medium bodied. Medium-high acidity. Not a lot of fruit character left, sour cranberries. Spicy tannins at tip of tongue linger. Hint of grapeseed bitterness. Warm spirit. Astringent finish. Unbalanced. Too much alcohol, acid and tannin for the fruit. 6.5/10

  Dark tawny strawberry brownish tinged red, medium depth of colour, obvious legs, clear 3/3
  Violets, blackberry, blackcurrant or ribena, 5.5/7
  Medium body, dry, restrained blackberry fruit, spicy tannins, firm acid, elegant structure with very long warm spicy finish, 8/10 = 82.5

  Medium body, dry, firm acid, noticeable alcohol burn. Subdued cassis fruit. Grapeseed tannin grip at tip of tongue in middle palate and finish. More acidic than I would prefer, and the tannin is out of balance with the fruit. 6.5/10
