  • Overall a disappointment.
    Had this over two nights.
    First night, closed all night...
    Aromas, mulberry, spice oak.
Palate, unusual for an Aussie Merlot, very elegant, restrained, low key.....
Dry, Mulberry, plum, sweet vanilla, a dot of liquorice, up front, and falls away. The balance between what it has is ok, but...
If there were a knob to turn up, to make it a little bigger, bolder, and a tad more fruit, I would!
    Cheers all!

  • Strong sulphite smell, but detectable black cherry aromas on the tasting, some mulberries. Not at heavy bodied as expected for Merlots. Medium to high acidity with a bit of aftertaste. Pairs well with beef casseroles and other red meats. The region is famous for its Cabernet-Sauvignons and Merlot does not have strong traditions. Overall not a convincing representation of the region.
