Enjoyable for the cost particularly. Nice fresh fruit with decent structure and balance but fairly straightforward. Not lean or cheaply fruity. No heavy spicy or mineral notes to get in the way. I've had better for the price but this one was decent and I enjoyed drinking it.

Aromas are quite hefty, definitely showing some of that 14.5% alcohol noted. The aromas are of model airplane glue, graphite, cherry, and light bits of tar. Pulling the glass away my nostrils still burn a bit. Palate entry is very nice and soft, with thick red fruited notes of ripe strawberry, some puckering acidic tar notes, graphite, and I seem to get a sense of wood (but of course no new wood on this wine). Nice minerals and acid on the palate. Sure the alcohol is present, but not overbearing. The finish is similar, but showing a bit more alcoholic spice, but really just coming across as spice without the alcohol. Tart, with darker strawberries on the finish, light bits of acidic road tar, and a nice lingering sensation. No where close to the 2010 in enjoyment. Wish I bought more of that previous vintage.

Nice red cherry and strawberry with some spicy notes to it. Decent finish. Good wine for the price point.

Cherry, woody, straightforward, not bad but not something I'd come back to.

great value quaff. doesnt have enough fruit to hold up for long but solid structure. Two-hour decant will reveal broad flavors for the entire palate.
