  After the 1st one was corked, I opened up another, and unfortunately my last. This bottle is a delight. Strikes me as relatively masculine. Glove leather, evergreen forest floor on the nose. On the palate, more of a resinous character than I've found in my (very limited) experience with Burgundies. Very nicely balanced, with some fine tannins that provide a bit of a grip on the finish. This may be even better in a few years. I think the WS drinking window of 2005 - 2012 is far too young. Doesn't overpower like many from California. Also has none of the "green" that I find in the '04 Burgs I've tried. I enjoyed its styling and finesse more than the score would indicate.

  Damn it. Lightly corked. Not so much as to be undrinkable, but enough so that it distracts from what would otherwise be a very nice wine.
