Good Balanced drinking wine.. nothing really outstanding about it especially for the age and price point. Magnum was decanted and it was mellow and ready for drinking. Zero acidity no tannins good balance of bright fruit.

Pop and pour. I've always found this vintage to be an early drinker, and this bottle held true to form. Nice nose with loads of blue and black fruit and some mesquite smoke. On the palate, acidity seems a bit soft, but more black fruit and some herbs/char. Finish is very soft, and if this btl is representative, it doesn't seem like there is much upside to holding from here on out.
Day 3. Open unrefrigerated on the counter. This is excellent today. I wish the acidity was a bit more pronounced so this was a bit juicier, but it is fantastic today, esp with 12.5% abv. More charcoal and black fruit today on the nose. Good pepper, root beer and blueberry on the palate, and a soft finish. A few days open suggests it will hold strong for a while, but doesn't seem to be built to improve much more.

Underwhelming & disappointing. Time unfortunately won't help.

Surprise bottle in my 2010 slot. Decanted 1 hour, a bit lighter of a year, yet balanced. Holding up well. Drink now-2023.
