  • what a surprise! found 5 btls buried in cellar, cork crumbled, (maybe this is
why laurent started getting fussy about corks) but boy was this delish.

  • Slow ox, served blind.
Not clear (some haze), medium garnet.
Aged red cherry, cranberry, plum, savoury earth, tea leaves, spice. This was probably better half a dozen years ago. Fruit is still present, but fading fast. Do not hold. 91-92 pts.

  • Friday night at Bishan. Tasted blind.
Appearance is cloudy, medium intensity, garnet colour. Legs.
Nose medium intensity, with aromas of savoury mushrooms, earth, dried tea leaves, dried red cherries, plum, light Vosne spice. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13%), dusty medium tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of savoury earth, mushrooms, dried tea leaves, dried sour red cherries, dried red plums, touch of Vosne spice. Medium finish.
Good quality, though sadly already past prime and on a decline. Fruit drying up. Still shows the Vosne spice typicity, though I was guessing aged Village actually. Drink up and enjoy.

  • Nose was initially a bit musky and funky, but it blew off quickly after 10 mins in the glass. It then had tart fruit, flowers, and tangerine peel on the nose. Palate had spice, tart fruit and red fruit with vibrant acidity. It drank more like a 95 more than a 96. Oak was integrated well. The fruit was missing precision but the ripeness was there.

  • The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It tastes like cranberry, red currant, black currant (cassis), bell pepper, tea, cool/menthol and lead pencil. The body is medium. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine has a sweet finish medium-long. The wine has low acidity. A difficult perfume to describe but enveloping and abundance of flowers and spices, centered and core. we think there is an beauty, elegance, and grace to this wine with levels of mystery. Ahhh a true Burgundian.
It smells like mushroom and cherry. Delicious and beautiful. Double decanted it, but probably didn't need it. Bacchus demerits the wine slightly with its "lightness" and "bitter quality" initially on the palette which disperses quickly (92)" but part of its charm. Ceres agrees that after two hours prune notes hovering on the finish.
