It is hard to imagine a Cabernet with more crowd-pleasing potential than this offering from Fritz. Opaque crimson, it flaunts black currants, tree bark, smoked fig and anise on the the nose, and follows with similar flavors on the palate. Medium-bodied, round and with medium sweet tannins, it is ever-so-easy to drink, even at this early stage. The alcohol (listed as 14.5%) is virtually seamless. As the flavors build on the middle palate, the mouth texture remains silky. Concluding with a smooth, medium-length finish, this is a red wine for newbies, "white wine drinkers" and experienced oenophiles. There are simply no rough edges! Serve this at a party with an eclectic guest list...you can't go wrong. Drink now-2018.

Sweet herbal nose, notes of tarragon. Lovely fruit - cherry and cassis. Acidity gves it some length. Not much tannin or wood and it may not store well, but it very well balanced now. Good food wine.

Big muscular Cab with broad cherry undertones, wonderful long finish. No wonder this wine appears on the wine list of the nation's top steakhouses.
