A casual opening over dinner of light curry and surprisingly this wine held its own and complimented the food very well. It had great body and mouthfeel with delicate flavour with a more mellowed finish than crisp. Better than expected.

WSET Diploma Semester 1 Block B; 9/8/2014-9/11/2014: Youthful nose, notes of green fruit, citrus, rubber. Kind of simple. Dry, high acid, med- body, medium intensity. Cirtus and green fruit. Some smoke. All very fresh. Simple.

{screwcap, 12.5%, A$13} Limey and slate-like; fairly youthful; fresh and lively smelling. The palate has a bit more of a nod to the old-world origins, there's a touch of minerals, earth and talc to the texture, but it's still pretty friendly with soft citric flavours. Acid is fairly low-key; it's close to dry (or at least you couldn't make a case for off-dry). The finish is a bit short but otherwise it's a pleasant wine and very good for the money.

ROH Amphitheatre Restaurant (Faust - Gounod) Grapey, juicy fruit with a hint of pectic apple grip that holds it together. Barely dry; sound and gluggable but frankly, unlike Terfel and Calleja et al in full flight, unmemorable. Not for keeping.
