  • slightly funky nose, some liquorice
surpising light for a barossa shiraz

  • aroma - eucalyptus, red berry; taste - chewy, dark raisin, little powdery feel of tannin, some tannin and leather on the finish

  • Consumed over 4 days, note from day 4. I unscrewed this on day 1, poured a glass and hated it. It was reticent and pretty much unpalatable - I almost dumped it. However, I vacuvined and stuck it in the fridge. Now, 4 days later, I remembered it was there and decided to taste it before I dumped it. To my surprise it had come around to be a decent quaff - my note.

Nose: Light to medium expressiveness, pine tree sap, rock candy, and mint. Palate: tangy dark-red fruit attack, nice acidic mid-palate, spicy dark fruit appears toward the back-end. Finish: Medium length sense of spicy fruit. Not complex, but decent balance from front to back. Okay, this wine went down 3 times in the first round and barely survived. It got up and finished the fight, lost in a close decision - but ya gotta give it props.
