Light ruby color and a restrained bouquet. Red cherries, slightly sour, plenty of minerality, and lean and austere. A little past its prime, but still enjoyable.

Black raspberry with subtle notes of earth and herbs. The tannins and acidity are well-integrated, yielding a silky palate. While enjoyable, this wine doesn’t really hold my interest; on the downslope for my tastes. Drink now.

Tasted over 2 hrs -nearly semi-translucent dark red faint purple minimal clearing -brooding black raspberry -med acidity lends a gentle lift, med/med- weight low key black raspberry with an earthy bitter spine that blends into the med tannins and a whisper of oak on the finish -good not great, has lost some of the 2010 energy and has a bit of rusticity, plenty of life still though

Slow-ox 30 minutes, tasted over 2 hrs and day 2 -med dark red with purple tinge -almost somber yet slightly creamy black cherry berry wet stone violet/floral -med+ acidity lends a sour topnote, med/med- weight pure darker fruit with mineral intensity though not yielding much on palate compared to nose, average length; more tart and plum on day 2 -dark fruited, somewhat tight - needs a few more years, comparing this to the recently tasted '10 Jarrons could be a prime example used to teach terroir differences - they share the vibrant mineral intensity profile of the vintage but the fruit spectrum is markedly different
