Our last bottle of Doug's first-year bottling of this great blend. Thoroughly enjoyed it as much as the prior two! It might be getting toward the end of its prime window.

A multi-vintage Solera blend from the 2011 and 2012 vintages. I like the concept, the style, and the finished product. Ripe and aromatic cherry, strawberry, and spice notes. Smooth and full bodied, this just glides in the mouth with no heaviness at all. Black raspberry and spice flavors are a bit candied, like a juicy Jolly Rancher. Long and gravelly on the finish. Just a beautiful, beautiful wine.

This was the second of three bottles of Doug's initial bottling of this Solera, and it is a live fruit experience with a very refined base and finish. We will save our last bottle for quite some time in the future, because it is abundantly clear that another decade may be possible at peak.

We've been waiting several years to try Doug's initial bottling of his multi-year blended pinot noir - and for our 4th of July dinner, it was an absolute pleasure. Incredibly smooth with bright fruit. The community window is currently listed as 2019 - and with some confidence, this should easily go out into the mid-2020s (we're suggesting 2024). We have two more bottles that we'll keep in stock for special occasions going forward. The Lichen Estate is also very worthy of a direct visit for anyone making the trek up to Anderson Valley.

Bold, swelling fruit; smooth, dense texture. Wow!
