This Barbera, while Rivetto's most basic one, is actually to my taste their best. The two more expensive ones are just way too dominated by oak, oak spice and ripeness. This is more about balance and freshness, although it still has enough ripeness and concentration to be a crowd pleaser. The nose is full of dark, dark fruit and some nice leather notes. Palate is straight forward and simple in an attractive way, possessing loads of dryish dark fruit and good acidity. Very enjoyable even without food and a overall good QPR.

aroma of caramel upon opening. Bright, medium body, red fruits with some spice. Easy drinking now, not complex but enjoyable
