Iron, blackberry, a little bramble stem. Pretty sweet on the finish. Seemed to open up over 2 hours in the decanter. Maybe better with more air or years in bottle. Primary, I did’t have an indication of significant positive further development.

On opening the palate was medicinal - think cherry cough syrup. Three hours of air muted this but never quite removed it. My youngest at this point said 'you don't usually drink something this sweet". It was OK with a standing rib roast but didn't improve with it. Day 2 saw continued recession of the sweetness, but also flattened out. This vintage was the first from the estate vines and maybe it is just a matter of youth, but I am less than impressed.

I opened this at our belated Thanksgiving dinner on 11/25/17. It had a big, rich, powerful bouquet of black cherry, raspberry, cola, pepper, herb and spice aromas. The palate was rich, ripe, powerful and dry with flavors that followed the nose.

WA Grenache Tasting: Cotton candy fruit. wow.. this isn't bad but also not what i like about Grenache from WA. Slightly sweet, mid tannin. 3/6. flight is improving.

Well made wine.
Dusty earthy Grenache. Drank over 4 hours but nose was muted. Was a bit disappointed in this.
