Iron, blackberry, a little bramble stem. Pretty sweet on the finish. Seemed to open up over 2 hours in the decanter. Maybe better with more air or years in bottle. Primary, I did’t have an indication of significant positive further development.

On opening the palate was medicinal - think cherry cough syrup. Three hours of air muted this but never quite removed it. My youngest at this point said 'you don't usually drink something this sweet". It was OK with a standing rib roast but didn't improve with it. Day 2 saw continued recession of the sweetness, but also flattened out. This vintage was the first from the estate vines and maybe it is just a matter of youth, but I am less than impressed.

I opened this at our belated Thanksgiving dinner on 11/25/17. It had a big, rich, powerful bouquet of black cherry, raspberry, cola, pepper, herb and spice aromas. The palate was rich, ripe, powerful and dry with flavors that followed the nose.

WA Grenache Tasting: Cotton candy fruit. wow.. this isn't bad but also not what i like about Grenache from WA. Slightly sweet, mid tannin. 3/6. flight is improving.

Bright crimson in color. 15.9% ABV. Subdued nose of red fruits, gravel and kirsch. Full bodied with optimal acidity and great mouthfeel. Richly textured and well balanced. Cherries, cassis, black raspberries and white pepper on the palate. The finish is long and pure. Pretty wine and the Mourvedre might be the here here. Drink over the next 5-7 years.

Pop and pour. Nose was slightly closed but showed red fruit, cement dust, violet, lavender, ash, and peppered meat. Restrained, in a good way, on the palate. Didn't feel any heat out of the Zalto Universal. More restrained red fruit on the palate which is a good thing, no port like flavors! Enjoyable now but I'm sure will fill out and add more complexity with time.

Could we just call it, GRV/FM Grenache Easy cellar selection, been wanting to try this since it arrived last Nov. Black berry nose leads into a mixed batch of fruit. Brisk with a tart close. Others liked this more than me.

e&e Christmas party. 2-hour decant. I got a glass and a half of this. I thought it was pretty fabulous. the signature gr/fm graham cracker goodness on the nose, with white pepper, kirsch, black raspberry, and brambly spice. silky, elegant and feminine in the mouth , and the finish was lengthy and a bit darker than the nose would have suggested. if scoring, 92-94. tasty, and will be better in 18-24 months. even at $60 I'd still buy again (though not much more).

A friend and I had this at the 10/19/13 fall release. It had a deep, lush bouquet of black cherry, raspberry, herb, pepper and spice aromas. The palate was rich and ripe with flavors of black cherry, raspberry, herb, pepper, spice and toast.

Well made wine.
Dusty earthy Grenache. Drank over 4 hours but nose was muted. Was a bit disappointed in this.
