Did not decant as I wanted to see how this evolved slowly in the bottle and boy was I rewarded. Hardly any signs of age, closed initially on the nose but in the mouth the fruit was just bursting to 'get at your sensory palate'. As I poured the first glass it was like a fruit bomb leaping out from the glass.....blackcurrant and damson. Great fruit to tannin balance to compliment the ensemble! Once again this stalwart of my cellar has not failed me.

Just about ready to drink, this minor St Julien is a little disappointing as it lacks balance. The fruit is a little unripe and the tannin & acidity seem to predominate somewhat. I doubt it will improve further so I intend to drink up the remaining stock fairly soon.

Still quite young, medium depth; developing cedary nose, good fruit but tannins still need time to soften a little. try again in 1-2 years
