One of the things I most like about Ojai Pinots is that, if you can leave them alone long enough, they always improve! It's true even with the multi-vineyard blends. Two years ago, this wine was disjointed - fruit forward, tart, tannins that weren't integrated with the rest of the components. Today - 10/23/2017 - everything has come together! The fruit is still round and firm, but the tannins have softened and rounded into form, making this a solid accompaniment to broiled salmon. Nobody...nobody makes food-friendly Pinots like Adam and Fabien....

The wine is clear and bright with a medium ruby colour.
The nose is clean and developing, showing medium+ intensity aromas of strawberry, dark cherry, raw meat and hints of liquorice.
It is dry in the mouth with a medium+ refreshing acidity. It has low soft tannins and a medium alcohol. It has a medium body and pronounced intensity flavours with a long finish.
It is a very good quality wine. It has a lingering finish a a very tasty fruit concentration balance by the vibrant acidity. However a better example of this style would be more aromatically complex.

Distinct CA pn, moderate fruit, menthol notes and strawberries. Still fresh, but drink in the coming years.

Light to medium bodied, more Burgundian than Cali in style. A food wine. Held up well over two days
