auspremiumwines Aged Bordeaux Cab Blend from Petaluma in Coonawarra. Probably a bit over the hill but still interesting! Oldest bottle of wine I've ever tasted! Enjoyed over a steak dinner whilst watching FIFA world cup Aus Vs France! Fitting description of the wine.

Decent fruit remains with mint earth smoke and dried herbs. Round and easy drinking. Not overly complex but interesting all the same. Great acidity holding this together with a balanced moderate alcohol level.

Deep red colour with a rose-pink tint. Nose of red capsicum, chili and tomato, with a rose-petal note taking over after a few hours. Rich, juicy palate shows flavours of red cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, tomato and fennel, with smooth, well-integrated tannin and acid. Not a hint of decay.
