Deep garnet color, displaying signs of age with subtle brick-red hues on the edges of the glass. The nose offers a compelling mix of dark fruits, notably plums and black cherries, complemented by hints of chocolate, vanilla, and black pepper. On the palate, the wine reveals balanced oak notes, including vanilla, interwoven with flavors of dark plums and black cherries. The fruit elements aren't as bold as usual but a long finish showcases hints of leather and star anise. Given the presence of heavy, large sediment, decanting is recommended. Not my favourite Bekkers Syrah vintage but drinking well enough right now.

1st vintage of this wine Colour surprisingly depth of colour bright red on the rim with slight bricking , clear and bright 15/15 Nose intense , an aroma that I am familiar with but not it's name - Strong aromas of vanilla, “pruneaux d’Agen” (french prune) and spices. once identified easy to remember , black cherry , black olive , earth , forest floor leaf litter black pepper 27/30 Palate full bodied rich luscious black fruits plenty of acidity and firm tannin grip across the palate , long clean finish 41/44 overall I enjoyed the wine and will be interested to see how it develops over the next 5 years 9/11

black plums, caramel, choc mint with sea salt and licorice, black fruit and light olive tapenade through the back. Sweet and savoury tannin that comes in a wave over the palate. Tough yeah on all fronts, but a resounding success
