  Found wine in one of my wine frigs while reorg. End of drinking window was 2012 so I wondered if it was drinkable. Opened it after it came up to room temp. Color red, not brick red or brownish. Smell was typical Zin...dark red cherry, spice and a little leather. It was a medium body wine. I didn't get analytical on reviewing it, just thankful I could enjoy it!

  Our last bottle of this and it was on par with the others, though it is time to drink up I think. Still improved over the course of a half hour in the decanter -- so maybe there's more life yet if you're luck enough to have some. Notes on the nose especially of leather this time and just a terrific full-bodied, silky finish. Just a terrific bottle of wine.

  No decant for this bottle and I don't think it was needed, as the nose and first sip were very nice. This cork came out of the bottle so easily that I was concerned about air leaking into the bottle, but it was ok. The cork did break easily later when I was pulling it out of the bottle for another pour so I guess that's the deterioration mentioned previously.
  
  The color is still gorgeous deep garnet, no bricking. Body is toward the full side. Nose is dark fruit and leather/earth, with a bit of heat, and these are present on the palate as well. Very good balance, although the heat occasionally pops up a bit too much. Still some smooth tannins, and the finish is long and strong.
  
  I don't detect any deterioration in the wine, but it's not going to get much better, so I'd agree it's time to drink up. I will probably finish off the rest of my bottles over the holidays, maybe leaving one to try a few months later to see how it's going.
