This is why I keep going back to Trader Joe's. Now, the flavors were nice, but not all that complex. The body was a bit on the lighter side as well, but that just makes a good options for different food parings. Keep in mind that it's an $8 wine. Where it earned my high praise was in the aromas. This cheap TJ Mourvedre smelled so good I couldn't believe it. It smelled very much like a Southern Rhone wine, but without the old-world nuances. Keep in mind, again, that it's an $8 wine.

Although this does not taste much like the Mouvedre we get from Cline, or Southern France, this is a very tasty red wine. You get the impression of very ripe grapes bringing some nice red fruit flavors like red raspberry and cherry. There is a smokey, mineral level of secondary flavors. I think the oak is a little artificial, and maybe not yet quite integrated. Surprising big mouth feel. Not all that much acid. Smooth finish with some cranberry flavors meeting the other red fruit.

Not much nose, but very pleasant fruit, smooth and soft.
