  • Appearance: Clear, medium (-) tawny colour with legs
Nose: Clean, medium (+) intensity and deliberately oxidation aromas of raisin, prune, sweet spice, nutmeg, orange peel, cedar and caramel.
Palate: Medium-sweet with medium acidity. Low tannin but well-integrated with fortified medium alcohol level. Full body, with medium (+) intensity flavors of raisin, prune, walnut, orange peel, nutmeg, butterscotch and caramel. Medium (+) length.
Conclusion: Good quality Australia fortified wine with intense nose and palate of fair complex characters. The sweetness is well balanced by the acidity and alcohol, making the wine very refreshing and enjoyable. The length is quite long with a good raisin aftertaste. It is a good after dessert wrap-up wine. Ready to drink now and not intend for ageing.

  • I find walnuts on the nose, with caramel notes and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, I find cooked blood oranges, walnuts and caramel. There is also a good amount of heat on the backend, but it subsides fairly quickly to give way to a medium long fruity finish. Over a couple of weeks, the nose evolved, evoking notes of moka, vanilla and very dark chocolate. On the palate, the fruit has subsided quite a bit too but nuts and smoky flavours have replaced it to contain the heat. A very nice sticky.

  • Very nice tawny. Enjoyable nose and palate. Raisins, plums, brown sugar. Light texture and fairly viscous. Not too complex, but quite drinkable. Good QPR. Will likely pick up another bottle.

  • Cabernets from around the world (Kungsholmen, Stockholm): Oaky vanilla, caramel, strawberry icecream, and some good old-fashioned tawny scents. This wine tastes lika a sweet barrel aged Shiraz, which is exactly what it is. Very tasty (but only when chilled, gets flabby when it gets warmer) and should go down well with your relatives visiting for Christmas.
