Received as a gift last month. Drink date is supposedly past due so decided to open.
Pours dark purple and brown, cola-like. Thinner than I was expecting. Nose has plum and unripe blackberry (slightly tart). Some vanilla as it warms. Texture is soft, more plum and berries. No tannins, weak on structure and short on finish. However, flavors are very good, with just the right amount of sweetness. Should pair with virtually any meat dish or a baked or chocolate dessert.
I wouldn't place this as a Merlot, but a red blend with Cab/Zinfandel.

Surprisingly expressive on the nose, offering pretty scents of ripe dark fruits and sweet spices. Medium-to-full bodied and quite sweet and fruity. Pleasant, but doesn't show much depth or intensity on the mid-palate, and there is virtually no varietal character to speak of here. The rather short finish is a bit syrupy - with a "manufactured" feel to it. Not too bad though, for around $7. 50+5+12+12+6=85

I'm not a Merlot fan, and probably wouldn't buy it, but it was given to me and not too bad. Color was unremarkable and the nose was a bit too sharp. Palate was smooth with some grain and honey notes, but also had too much of that merlot mustiness that overpowered it.

Opened at friend's whose still developing her palate. Enjoyable, easy-drinking, fruity wine. Medium-light body. very little finish.
