  • Deep ruby in color. Loads of ripe plum, blueberry and perhaps strawberry on the nose. Volatile. Drinkable shortly after pouring. Luscious, jammy. Fruit forward, very light tannins, but well-balanced, not at all sweet. Medium AT.

  • A good, smooth meritage blend. Aroma is oak, bright fruit underneath, a little dark fruit also, and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is bright, full of berry notes, some oak, and yes, I can taste the alcohol. Tannins come in on the finish.

    Tasted at about 60°F.

  • I was pleasantly surprised to be chosen to be a Labrat and the Tower 15 The Swell arrived at my door yesterday afternoon as promised. I opened the bottle last evening and thoroughly enjoyed this wine.
I am a Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec drinker on most occasions and enjoy trying other wines as well. I am always cautious when it comes to mixed or blended reds. The Swell has Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petite Verdot(new to me) and Cabernet Franc. This blend however was perfect.
The bottle had a wonderful smell of fruit when I opened it, I knew almost immediately I would enjoy this wine. It is big wine, with fruity flavors, not sweet and has a nice slight peppery/spicy finish. I drank it on its own which was very good but would definitely pair nice with a steak. I had a piece of chocolate with my second glass and was in heaven.
What amazes me most is the price, very reasonable for an exceptionally enjoyable wine. I highly recommend this wine for an everyday drinker but will not be embarrassed bringing this to a dinner party. You will get comments. I don’t know about cellaring as this would not last long enough in my house to be cellared. It would be the first wine I reached for from my collection.
    Thanks Woot for pleasant surprise.
