I really like this producer. This is not quite as good as the '09, but the resemblance is clear. There is a smokey inner core surrounded by luxurious dark fruit and licorice. There is power and subtly. I do notice a slight etch that is unwelcome but it's in the background. Lovely wine if you can get it at the right price. Tasted alongside '09 Thil Comte Clary which is half the price and the difference is quite clear. This wine is more effortless, has more of a range and intricacy and is more complete.

Soft and muted nose upon open. Fully resolved tannins, and medium to dark red fruit on the palate, good balance with enough acidity to bring some freshness to the overall sensation. Lingering finish. No sense that this is going to get to a more evolved place, but no rush either.

Decanted for 1-1/2 hrs before traveling to Mintwood Place, with Joyce & Steve Rapaport. Reprised from 7 years earlier at Table 8, Miami Beach. Substantial sediment. Classic St Emillon cassis, graphite. Extended finish.

Dead on arrival. Took a chance on a few bottles with what seemed a good deal at an auction. RIP Chateau Gomerie.

Took a chance at an auction and bought a lot of four bottles. First one...corked.
