Enjoyed this tremendously. The nose is all over the place with Pinot like spices, raspberries, oak, vanilla, cherries, perfumed nebbiolo aromas, meat and pepper, butter, oak and some blackberries.
Medium+ acidity, medium body, some tannins but fairly round, high intensity and a long finish. There is also a slight saline touch on the finish that I really like.
Really fun to try something serious from Mexico! Who would have thought!

Developing nose with a medium+ aroma intensity. Aromas of black berries, violets, peppers, raisins, cherry jam, spice and strawberries.
Dry on the palate with a medium acid, medium+ tannin and body. It has a medium+ flavor intensity and shows flavors of strawberries, green olives, chocolate, pepper and black berries. The finish is medium and slightly stemmy.
This wine was totally sprawling but I ended up in southern Rhône due to the sweet fruit, pepper and olive notes. Pretty tasty anyway. Could be cellared for another 5 years to let the tannins settle down a bit.

Perfect example of great fruit from the Baja Californian Terroir. Blackberries Jam, Plumbs, Casis and Black currant in combination with spicy elements, velvety texture and distinctive notes such as vanilla, caramel and licorice. High end wine of Vinicola Fraternidad.
