color and taste were both a bit muddled. took a bit to open up but never really got going aromatically. better on the palate, but also needed some time

Paired great with cast iron-finished steaks. No notes here, but this was enjoyed by all. I don't think I was as impressed as a prior note indicates (94!), but this is excellent and was a really solid by at $31 USD. Glad to see a couple more are squirreled away. CT window indicates 2019 - 2026. I'd say this is drinking great right now. We'll see where it goes.

The color is very dark. The aromas of ripe red fruits are stunning! The full-bodied taste is fruity, tender and alluring, displaying lovely flavors of ripe cherries and other ripe red fruits. But the tenderness is balanced by lively acidity, ripe but gripping tannins, as well as mystic notes of garrigue, herbs and smoke.
All in all, this is a great Châteauneuf-du-Pape that it is in a very good phase at the moment. However, the wine may still be stored for many years.

Had over three nights. This is coming into its own. Not sure what to say, but this is an excellent example of CdP / Grenache that gets the richness, the texture, the brown sugar sweetness and marries it with herbal undertones, eucalyptus, and baked earth and is somehow carried effortlessly so that all of that never feels heavy or flabby. A long finish that is both rich and refreshing. On night three cocoa and espresso notes come in, but it still holds perfectly together. This is what many wines at double the price (or more in the U.S.) shoot for.
