Grandioser Pizzawein. 95+

2017 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/9/2017-11/14/2017 (Villa D’este, Lake Como and Milan): Expressive nose displaying very ripe red fruit, dry cherry, plum, caramel, sap and strong iron. Excellent concentration, finely layered jammy red fruit, very polished and fluid, incredibly silky tannins and a long dry cherry and iron driven finish. A classic Voerzio, i.e. ripe and concentrated with very silky tannins. This is no Giuseppe Rinaldi but I would not call it modern. Like the Mortet, not for the hardcore purists. However, another decade of cellaring may change that.

The most elegant out of the four 2010 R. Voerzio Barolo. Olives, on the nose, smoke, slightly mineral. Great length. This will be wonderful in a couple of years. 93-94+
