7th release of this Haunting aroma, the nose is quite spectacular, like old leather bound books with dried flowers. Really remarkable Palate doesn't quite match up to it though it's still impressive with a piercing freshness, extraordinary intensity and a walnut finish that goes on for a good ten minutes. I can still taste this 3 days later.

2015 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/19/2015-10/27/2015 (New York City, NY): Having the opportunity to taste this extremely low-production wine was exciting in and of itself. I knew that it would be good, but had no idea that it was perfection in a glass! A blend which includes (but is not limited to) Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cabernet from a solera that began in 1915, it is a nectar of the gods! Sweetness balanced with beautiful acidity, it delivers honey, peach, chocolate, spumoni, maple syrup and apricot, all of which linger on and on. Just transcribing this from my handwritten note five days ago conjures up the intoxicating aromas and flavors of this gorgeous wine. This is truly one of the greatest sweet wines ever produced. Drink now-2050.

Lovely. A blend of wines from 1915, 1940, 1945. Only 6 bottles imported into US in 2014. 46 in 2015. They only produce 330 bottles per year to maintain the solera
Primarily Shiraz, Mataro and Grenache. Medium Amber colored, wafting aromas of maple syrup, dried fig, caramel, sticky toffee and butter. Really quite a treat.
Don't pass up the opportunity to try it.

Rich, complex and unctuous; hard to believe the age here. A powerhouse aged tawny style.
