Our second day of Hong Kong Restaurant Week saw us venturing down Ship Street in Wanchai to Madam Sixty Ate. Quite the hip and happening place nowadays, we definitely were feeling old. No worries…we can roll with the best of them…just a bit slower! With a wine by the glass list offering 12 varied drops, we prepared for a few sips. Greenish-yellow. A bit too tart, sour and acidic to start. Smooth grapefruit flavours after resting for a while. Good touch of oak (6 months in barrels) and vanila on the palate. Short-finish. A good wine and excellent value. Nice choice, Marianne!

Wine-Ark boys on tour - Hunter Valley 2014 - Day 1 (Hunter Valley): slight toast and butter over lemon and touches of floral top notes. Quite spicy. In the mouth the wine is tangy with citrus notes, very, slight stone fruit, bit of butter, mouth furring phenolic grip medium length. Meh.
