Typically quite tight and concentrated aromas, but still gives this little charm that creates joy with the presence of cherries, raspberries, soil, hints of herbs and tighter dark spice tones. Good full-bodied wine with a pronounced good mouthfeel of fresh and acidic cherries, raspberries, licorice, soil and clear salts. Good acidity and tannin structure. Still a bit tight neck on this wine that does not show too delicate tones yet, but this is a brilliant representative from Taillpiedes that can withstand a minimum of 10-15 more years. 93 points.

Angerville Taillepieds Evening (San Francisco): Deep and primary looking. Very ripe red and blue fruit joined by some green herbs after several hours. Candied quality to the fruit in the mouth, atypically large scaled for Volnay. Not as fine or focused as it usually is. Will this eventually drop some of its baby fat and show more site-specific character?

Rather dense and primary with a slight surmaturité to the dark fruit. Finishes warm. Not much vineyard, or even commune, typicity.
