Strawberry, red cherry, earth, chalk/limestone, and stems. Beautifully balanced weight-wise, with the profile favoring more of the earth side of the house. Slight funky soil notes on the tail. Finishes slightly rustic, but with enough grace to keep you coming back for another sip. Best with food. 93 (pushing 94) points. For me, this is more of a drink now wine (if you like fruit…as I see the earth element continuing to increase as time goes on).

Wilson Daniels Dinner (Blackbird - Chicago IL): Red and black cherry, both sweet and tart. Ripe fruit with savory spice, starting to mature earlier than many 2012s, but very friendly. shadowed by the Bonnes Mares 2014 in the next glass.

Red fruits, blackberries. Complex palate w. ripe dark berries. Still very young.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Metropolitan Pavilion - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. Spice throughout with cross-section of red and black fruit aromas and flavors. Rich but balanced. Drinking well today. I didn't want to like this, but just couldn't resist.
