  • In great shape. Bit of green peppercorn & singed herbs on the nose, sitting above dark blue & black berry fruits. Touch of vanilla bean is there as well. Med+ weight on the palate with a nice anise note & bit of creamy midpalate. Med tannins & acid hold up with good length. Enjoyed with a mix of kalbi ribs & steak.

  • Popped and poured, consumed over 5 hours. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, black raspberry, boysenberry, black licorice, smoke, shoe leather, and a big-ole slab of bacon fat. Palate: Full bodied, ripe black and blue fruit attack, good balance and mid-palate persistence, Asian spice lifts the back-end with the bacon fat filling out the body from from to back. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by spicy dark fruit, earthiness, and bacon fat.

  • Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness. kirsch, black raspberry, dust, pine needles, and florals - lilacs. Palate: Medium-full bodied, great balance, creamy mouth feel - milk chocolate like, blue fruit attack, spicy mid-palate presence, solid mid-palate density, precise and focused from front to back. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by spicy dark fruit and milk chocolate. My second of 2 bottles and this is absolutely singing this evening noticeably more integrated than previous bottle which seemed a little disjointed in the back-end.

  • Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, saddle leather, brambles, olives, ocean air, and dark fruit - black berry and black raspberry - more Rhone like than California. Palate: Medium-full bodied, black pepper and dark fruit attack, noticeable acid driven mid-palate lift, back-end turns a bit thin and rustic showing black olive, tobacco, and hints of iodine - though not in a bad way. Finish: Medium plus length dominated by stems, spice and dark fruit.
