Cloudy and dark. Strong mineralladen berry and cherry aromas. Also notes of chocolate on the nose. Rich but also balanced palate with quite a sweet and long ending.

40% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Touriga Nacional, 15% Aragonez, 15% Syrah, & 10% Petit Verdot; Aged in oak barrels for 12 mos
~50 min decant into plastic, cylindrical pitcher, though the lid was put onto the pitcher immediately after pouring
N: Closed; Earth, poss minerals, choc underneath; More to give? Berries with swirling?
P: LM body; RNDISH entry with NICE frt met by tangy astringency that SEAMLESSLY morphs into a LONG, balanced, very, VERY lightly tangy finish with an elegant sense of swtness to remaining very, VERY fine tannins, or at LEAST nothing "objectionable" with them. For my palate this is DEFINITELY in its "drinking window", & with enough frt & structure likely to drink through '20, poss '21. 14.5% ABV; My EXC-. 94 pts WE & their #52/Top 100 Cellar Selections, though I'm *not* seeing THEIR drinking window!

More blue than red in the glass. Somewhat musty nose. Big black fruit on entry—almost black cherry Kool-Aid level. However, that quickly passes. Lots of tart acid. Then there is an earthiness. All in all it’s an OK everyday drinker, but nothing particularly special.
