I made a bad assumption here and created a new wine because this bottle, carrying the name of only one producer, Henry Marionnette, could also be ascribed to his property, Domaine de la Charmoise, which appears no where on the label. F the Loire. The labels have become so confusing I wish I din't like the wines.
One can perhaps infer that the designation "non greffees" on the label means the vines are ungrafted, which if true is impressive enough. This is a refreshingly attractive off-dry chenin in a mode I most typically associate with the varietal, or perhaps hope to find more often on these shores. Lovely nose with light floral overtones, green apple, honey, petrol and greengage plum, which admittedly is a stretch. Smoothly textured it coats the whole mouth with a luscious and lightly sweet layer of fruit, stone and acid on a balanced finish. With it's straightforward 12.5% alcohol and touch of sugar, it's plain fun to drink.

really enjoyed this wine, although a bit more expensive than I usually pay for a chenin. I would buy again.
