Two hour decant. Notes of rich plum, black currant, tobacco, forest floor, and subtle bell pepper and orange peel. Smooth French vanilla oak. Round, juicy chewy tannins. On the acidic side for the first 2-3 hours and then it was silky smooth. Folks that give this a long decant or another 5 year of bottle time will be rewarded.

Fantastic old friend - I have had these bottles since bought prior to release, and what once was a tannic beast has become quite a finely balanced wine. I did not need to decant - a little surprising, but it felt great out of the bottle.

Dark fruit and lots of tannin and acid still. Can sit down for many more years. Fruit and complexity came out the longer we let it breathe. Tasted better on day 2 of opening

Christmas eve dinner. Opened and decanted 4-5 hours before dinner. Incredibly tight upon opening, but had softened by the time dinner started. Didn't take detailed notes, but really enjoyed what I had. Given the long decant time, recommend holding 3-5 years before even considering opening, and even then will require a long decant. Fortunately, these wines from Viader are built for the ages and won't fall apart from extended cellaring. This wine is just a baby and it shows.

Softer tanens, mild fruit, tobacco medium body, some strawberry and cherry, with some of the darker fruit but not heavy.
