  • Very consistent with my previous note, delicate strawberry and cranberry, and lovely freshness. Tasted alongside a decent SA pinot which just felt a bit jammy and clumsy in comparison with this.

  • Oh yeah - red fruits - a bit of strawberry, and super savoury. A hint of spice, a hint of pepper - and just super light. But maybe a hint of something - is it the acidity out of balance? Is the pepper a bit too...peppery? No - no it's not. What's going on is TCA -this wine is falling apart. Not completely - and at a walking pace - but yeah. It's Corked. Sad sad sad.

  • Both the nose and the colour lighter than the 2010 Corton Bressandes which preceded it. Some red fruits, a little spiciness and a very pleasant herbaceous quality in the middle. It has a structure and length which make it worthy of some contemplation, drinking nicely now but I think has some time ahead of it - pleased to have picked up a few of these in the berrys sales.

  • From 75cl, good cork, decanted 30 minutes off substantial powdery sediment, followed over 2 hours. V. light colour, surprisingly brown/Spätburgunder-like at rim. Powerful strawberry scent the best bit (it would be rude to say strawberry jam, but not entirely inaccurate). Entry and mid-palate show low acid, soft, ripe berry fruit and low-to-no tannins. The texture is very straightforward, the finish cloying and kinda sweet. All of this remarkably consistent as it warmed from cellar temperature to 20C. Don't regret having purchased one bottle for 41 EUR from an impeccable source some time ago, but glad not to have more in the cellar, and couldn't imagine wanting to rebuy unless other vintages are profoundly different. For this money, I'd take Felton Road's Bannockburn or a number of villages Gevreys any time. 87-88P

  • 1130am Poured out 250ml into small bottle and let bottle stand.

6pm. Nose is good. Got bits of everything, Red fruit, sweet notes, savoury notes,
Palate full of raspberry, medium + length, medium bodied.

Love the nose. 90 for now.

Getting to the bottom of the bottle. 7:15pm
    Nose is the same.
Palate is so much better. Much more lively and less flabby. (Sorry, don’t know the technical terms!)
    91.
