  • Prior bottle was 18 months ago and it showed a bit better tonight. Black cherry, black raspberry and light spice notes on the nose. Between medium and full bodied with a mix of blackfruit black cherry/black raspberry/plum making up the front, mid-body and backside. What sets this wine apart is the silky and elegant mid-body which married beautiful fruit expression with balanced acidity and tannins-based structure. The fruit and the contrasting notes were in nearly-perfect harmony and the result was a wine that felt complete, possessed excellent depth and very good density and showed its fruit to its best advantage. This wine is in a great spot currently and well worth drinking over the next year as this peak is too impressive to risk missing.

  • Drinking well right now but can still go longer.

  • Deep raspberry as well as cherry, vanilla and spice notes on the nose. Between medium and full bodied (14.5% ABV) with black raspberry upfront with a good mix of roundness and brightness. Mid-body shows some additional depth and some silkiness to go along with the black and red cherry and plum notes. Backside has some blackberry along with balanced tannins, acidity and spice qualities. There's density, but also elegance and balance. Well balanced and showing its fruit beautifully, this should drink well over the next several years. Next bottle for me will be June/July 2021.

  • Pop and pour. In the glass, medium-clear red with a very slight violet tint. On the nose, cherries, clove, and a touch of nutmeg. On the palate, smooth and very well balanced - there is fruit, spice, minerality, and texture here, but no one element dominates over any other. One of the best pinots I've had in quite some time, although I freely admit that might be influenced by the duck breast I just cooked to go with it...
