Really nice on the pop and pour and good for about 45 minutes. But then started to fade pretty quick. definitely a drink now wine but holding up fairly well for over 10 years old and some excellent fruit mid palate structure acid finish all good.

The last bottle of the Valdez Zinfandel - and still going strong. Red and dark fruits, spice, some herbs, savory and not sweet. Has lots of life in it - at age 13. Great qpr for my $20 price (in 2018). Delicious with our bbq pork ribs.
I think the winery has gone defunct. If so, that is sad.

Valdez is not readily available back east so I pick it up whenever I see it. Always reliable, always a good Zin. Fruity without being jammy, the spice notes you expect from Zin, nice structure and medium finish. A bit hot initially, settles down after an hour or so. Decanting helps.
