Shy nose of raspberry with a hint of musk. Medium bodied. Good fruit. Oak in support. No sweet fruit. Savoury. Raspy tannins in the finish. With a bit of air this has developed into an excellent GSM.

Deep colour, truffle and earth, plum, blackberry and prune. Medium plus body, medium plus finish. Tannin is strong, smooth but a bit grippy. Quite a polished wine. It is aging well but I don't see the point in leaving it any longer. Definitely requires some breathing time. Would have given it a higher score but for the grippy tannin.

Crimson colour. Aroma of oak and slightly hot. Medium body with a long finish. Plum and raspberry, tannin coats the tongue but not overboard. A very fruity wine that I think will further improve with time

Quite dense blackish red color that lets only very little light through. Really sweet and jammy nose with aromas of almost overripe strawberries, some cocktail cherries, a little bit of boysenberry jam and hints of sweet toasty oak. The wine is medium-bodied to moderately full-bodied, rich and ripe on the palate with intense flavors of spicy oak, sweet strawberries, some slightly dried dark-toned fruit, a little bit of milk chocolate, hints of blackberry jam and a touch of ripe dark berries. The wine is surprisingly high in acidity, giving the wine some sense of brightness, but the sweet and spicy flavors keep the wine from appearing fresh. The structure feels quite soft, relying more on the acidity than on the rather ripe medium tannins. The finish is rich, sweet and somewhat coarse with flavors of woody oak, strawberry jam, some overripe dark fruits, a hint of sweet cocoa oak and a touch of bittersweet dark chocolate.
Surprisingly bright and acid-driven for a GSM blend, but that's about it. Other than that, the wine comes across as quite jammy, soft and rather oak-driven with a bit too sweet and mellow overall character for my taste. Especially the oak and the ripeness seem to have stripped the wine of most complexity, making it taste more like oaked strawberry jam. I doubt that a wine this soft and borderline overripe will benefit much from tasting. Feels too expensive at 23,90€.

NobleRottersSydney - Christmas Lunch 2014 (Greg's place): {screwcap, 14%} Youthful and jubey, with raw (ripe) raspberry flavours. Medium-bodied palate; maybe a bit hollow. Ripe enough but a bit anonymous in flavour; soft dusty tannins, low acid. Finish is short/medium at best. A bit of a let-down perhaps although I doubt Rosemount’s ambition is high as it used to be for this wine (the price barely shifting over a decade).
