Offering a nice aromatic profile of pear, tropical fruit and lemongrass, this light yellow wine delivers similar flavors on a light-bodied, seamlessly alcoholic (14.2%), fresh frame. The flavors hang on nicely in the middle and the medium-length finish concludes with a dollop of honeydew. Although this is not the current Groth release, it is still fairly youthful and should pair well with light fare for another year or so. Drink now-2017.

Dinner with Friends (Edwin's/Our Backyard by the Fire): $40 off the restaurant menu. A bit of a mark up but it served its purpose. Light green/white gold in color. The nose has slight grassiness to it with a bit of tropical fruit. Pleasant, slightly fat texture. Decent acidity. This was refreshing and worked outside on a warm evening.

Not bad. Smooth, clean, with a nice pear/apple finish.

A lighter colored, lighter bodied somewhat generic bottle of sauv blanc, nothing wrong with it but nothing distinctive apparent either.
