Honeyed notes dominate at first, suggesting age, but then recede into something more ordinary Chardonnay-like with a light dusting of icing sugar. Decent tipple at an honest price but I wonder if the dosage isn't rather too generous here. Drink up

Didn't show of very well this time around, and the majority of the gang of 30 odd Champagne enthusiasts wasn't impressed. Though very few thought it would be anything else than a Champagne. Nose is dominated by roasted oak, butter, tropical fruit, star fruit, bread, but this time I got a distinct sticky alcohol touch bordering on petrol (in all of the 3 bottles that was opened) as well as plenty of burned rubber. High, tart acidity, lots of fruit, full bodied, slightly alcoholic bitterness (even though the alcohol is just 12% abv). Decent intensity and length. Will keep using this to stir up Champagne tastings, but there are some clear flaws.

Epic bubbles (blinded) (Zorg's place, Umeå, Sweden): Grande, oaky, young, flowery with soft soap (the old fashioned kind made from pine resin). Quite inspiring nose. Fabulous acids, small bitterness. Complex and fantastic. Ends with grilled fishbones. Yum!
(The grand majority of tasters labeled this "Champagne".)

Always enjoyable. Maybe a touch too sweet but a very nice sparkler.
