Label says cellar for 7 to 10 years but now 12. It could go another 10. Bought for $21 at auction 4 years ago. Great find. Deep red wine. Chocolate flavours. Oak and tobacco with light acidic aftertaste. Very enjoyable wine.

Coonawarra Roadshow (Ivy, George Street, Sydney): Muted red plum and berry, touch of funkiness and polished cedar…bit out of whack on the palate and no very nice…the tannins are floury and drying, the fruit muted, the spice jarring. Nah.

Coonawarra Roadshow (Town Hall, Sydney): Slight dirty (cork taint?) blackcurrant over red plum, dusty with some sweet spice. In the mouth the wine is spicy with black currant, chalky chewy tannins shut it down a touch but the fruit persists beneath. Long. Despite that touch of taint this is a good wine.

2014 Sydney Royal Wine Show - Exhibitor's Tasting & Trophy Wines Lunch (Homebush & Four Seasons Hotel): [gold medal] {cork, 14.5%} Sweet, jammy – but not too sweet - fruit. A touch of flyspray about this, in a good way! Dense, medium-bodied palate is packed with currant and plum fruit. Mild & medium acid, great mid-palate weight and a medium length finish round out the best Redman wine I ever tasted. This is very young, but is so tightly packed. Deserves the gold medal, and should age beautifully for a decade, antiquated closure notwithstanding. Very impressive.
