A week in Tuscany (and Lots of wines); 10/19/2015-10/21/2015 (Tuscany, Italy): I am a fan of VdSG's but this may be the best one ever tasted. Light golden in color. I am told this saw no oak. The nose has wet stones (think German Riesling), pears, peaches, and also a vanilla streak. With air a persimmon quality comes out. Very nice creamy texture. Where is this body coming from? It is almost fat. Yet, there is good acidity here. Complex and delicious right now. Long finish. I would doubt it ages, but its already three years from vintage. I need to find out more about this producer. I doubt it makes it to the US. Too bad as I think this was under $20.
