shared with pat at selkirk manor. celebrating another week of SIP (shelter in place/sip in place) due to covid-19. no formal notes. a fairly substantial wine. needed some time in the glass to blow off some funk. an enjoyable full bodied wine emerged. paired well with roast beef. i am advancing longevity to match WS estimate.

CHE89. Powerful, tannic, a lot of ripe black berries, dry plum, some kind of oil product. Strong tannins. But good balance. After 12 hours in decanter the wine becomes softer and more elegant

PnP. Étrange odeur et goût de caoutchouc brûlé qui masque le fruit la première journée. Le Lendemain, le caoutchouc a laissé la place à la compote de fruits rouges (dans le bon sens) et aux épices, dont l'anis. Bon niveau d'acidité et tanin un peu carré sans être désagréable. Ma moins bonne bouteille. Passage en carafe requis.
