I’ve had 2 bottles of this on 2 weeks - this has lost most of its fruit, has little structure , has a tart finish. Initially had a herbal element that dissipated. I left 1/2 of a bottle in the decanter overnight and it lost even more. I think it’s time to get these in the gullet, to make room for other bottles. Nothing offensive , but seems watered down pale and weak.

Decanted two hours in advance. Aromas of olives and black fruit. Complex mix of flavors includes bacon and black fruit up front; menthol, cassis and some vanilla in the lingering finish. Complex, mutable, solid backbone, great depth, and absolutely delicious. Has the stuffing you would expect from Rhone Syrah, but also has a freshness and charm that is often lacking.
While this definitely benefited from the decant, it was alive and open for business from the time the cork was pulled.

Opened 02/27, drank 1/3, recorked. Reopened 02/28 and finished off. Stellar wine, just glorious. Needed air to really strut its stuff. Initially it was more fruit and less savory, funky Syrah. With air the umami elements came out, with mineral and dark floral tones. The fruit was marvelous, a balanced attack of black raspberry and blueberry. Subtle oak, a hint here or there, but never overbearing. It'll be hard not to drink the rest of my bottles.
